PRESIDENT’S REPORT
By: Michael Jeter
Happy New Year, Brothers and Sisters of Local 722!
As we welcome 2026, let us stand united in purpose, pride, and positivity. We Can. We Will. We Must conquer negativity. The year 2025 has come to a close, leaving us with lessons learned, wisdom gained, and new opportunities ahead.
This is our time to move forward—stronger, wiser, and more determined. Growth begins when we reflect honestly, correct our mistakes, and commit to doing better. Truthfulness, integrity, and accountability must guide everything we do. Integrity builds trust, strengthens our union, and leads us toward lasting success.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Christmas Party, a celebration made even more meaningful as Local 722 marked 50 years of advocating for workers’ rights. For five decades, we have fought for fair wages, better hours, safer working conditions, dignity on the job, and strong contracts. That legacy belongs to you.
On December 22, 2025, Local 722 proudly distributed 640 turkeys to members. Acts like this show that solidarity is more than a word—it’s action. We’re excited to announce that our 2026 Turkey Giveaway will take place on Monday, November 23, 2026, from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
As we enter 2026, make this your year to grow. Invest in yourself, upgrade your skills, and pursue new opportunities. No one stands in your way but you.
May God bless us with peace, health, strength, and unity throughout this year. Let us move forward together, because the joy of the Lord is our strength.
LABOR UNIONS MUST FIGHT BACK
Working people and union members continue to face serious attacks on collective bargaining and worker protections. These attacks threaten not just federal workers, but the entire labor movement. An injury to one truly is an injury to all.
We are witnessing an economy increasingly tilted toward billionaires and corporations while working families struggle with rising costs. Many members are working multiple jobs just to stay afloat—this is reality, not rhetoric.
Our strength lies in unity, organizing, and action—on the job and at the ballot box. We must elect leaders who respect unions and put working families first.
Solidarity means:
- The employed standing with the unemployed
- The organized standing with the unorganized
- Higher-wage workers standing with lower-wage workers
Together, we defend our contracts, protect our rights, and secure a future with real worker power.
POWER 100 – WE CAN • WE WILL • WE MUST
As we move into 2026, we invite committed members to step into leadership by joining Power 100—a movement of engaged union members strengthening solidarity and action.
Power 100 members will:
- Organize and support fellow workers
- Educate members on civic participation and voting
- Serve as ambassadors at community events
- Help build a strong, visible, and united union
This is a call to leadership. Together, we move forward informed, empowered, and united.
CLUW 23RD BIENNIAL ANNUAL CONVENTION
By: Debra Davis, Chief Shop Steward – Children’s National
I attended the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) 23rd Biennial Convention in San Diego from November 8–12, 2025. Over 400 members from across the country gathered to address challenges facing working families, women’s leadership, and political engagement.
We discussed the federal government shutdown, its impact on families, and the importance of voting and civic responsibility. I am proud to share that SEIU regained a seat on the National Officer Council, and I was honored to be elected as a delegate to the National Executive Board.
I encourage all SEIU members to join CLUW and support fairness, leadership, and opportunity for women everywhere.
CHILDREN’S NATIONAL – 155 YEARS OF SERVICE
From a 12-bed rented row house to serving over 250,000 children annually, Children’s National celebrates 155 years of premier pediatric care and excellence.
👏 Congratulations to all Children’s National members for your dedication and hard work in reaching this incredible milestone.
