Hello Brothers and Sisters of Local 722. We Can We Will We Must be delivered .

Summer time is here, please be safe and enjoy your Summer Vacation with your love ones and friends . Also congratulations to all graduates.

There was a Reduction in Force ( R.I.F.) at Medstar Washington Center which 14 members involved, 11 members were put in comparable positions. There are New Time clocks being put up around the Hospital Center.

Please check on your time and attendance on page 34 of the contract at the Hospital Center. Myself and Vice President Vanessa Jones plan on coming too attend huddle in different departments at Washington Center and Children’s National Hospital .

Going forward our Membership Meetings will now be held from 11 am – 1pm the third (3rd) Saturday of every month. We rotate monthly between the Children’s auditorium and the WHC auditorium

Information Updates

Greetings All,

For our Members at Children’s National, you should be aware that Children’s is going through a system change. You should have completed training on the new Workday UKG system. Time keeping, vacation request, annual training and more on this new system. Please be vigilant in getting as much education on this new system as possible.

Although management should be providing opportunities for everyone to obtain training, we realize everyone will not master the new system as quickly as others. Remember, you can always share with management if you are not comprehending what’s being asked of you with the new system. Also, because many of you are more computer savvy than others, we ask that you extend a hand to share your experience with other members who may be less savvy.

This would be a great segway to remind everyone about your attendance & parking. Please plan ahead to ensure that you allow enough time to park in your assigned parking area prior to entering the hospital to clock in. You are not authorized to enter the building, clock in, and then go move your car. Time stamp and video footage will monitor your access.

Employees should have received their personal day in their vacation bank on the first full paycheck after July 1st. The across the board 3% pay increase for our members should also happen on the first full paycheck after July 1st. We know this increase is much needed since according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics inflation for the year is 4.2% which is the highest since April 2023.

Here’s to everyone who participated in the June elections. We hope your selected candidates were elected. More importantly, we hope you voted for candidates who support working people; who support a stable democracy for all; who support healthcare for all; who support our seniors and our children.

Although the Local 722 Scholarship opportunities has closed for the year, there are still education opportunities available to our members and their families. Please pay attention to the Union Education Benefits powered by Edvance. This is a partnership through our SEIU Member Benefits program. This program is not run by Local 722, but is open to Local 722 members.
