Please, Please, Please!!

I don’t know how many times I have said this, but it continues to happen. Many of you are still going into meetings with your management without requesting Union Representation. When I say management, this includes supervisors, directors, Employee Relations, Human Resource officials, Business Partners, the Presidents of the Hospitals, Occupational Health, or any other officials of the Hospitals.

When you are called into any meeting, you have the right to ask what the meeting is about and can what you say lead to you being disciplined. If the meeting is an investigatory meeting, one in which you are going to be asked questions, you have a right to Union Representation. But, you must request it. The Hospitals have no obligation to remind you of this fact, nor present you with representation unless you request it. This is called your Weingarten Rights.
